# About SwiftWill

SwiftWill is document-preparation software for England and Wales, not a law firm: £35 once, instant PDF, free updates for life, no subscriptions or upsells. We carry £2m professional indemnity insurance and IPW membership. Skip us if you need tax planning, trusts, foreign assets or expect a dispute.

> SwiftWill provides legal information and software for England & Wales under Section 9 of the Wills Act 1837. Figures are taken from gov.uk, legislation.gov.uk and HMCTS, checked 12 August 2026. We have not given you legal advice — this is general information.

## Why does SwiftWill exist?

Around 54–60% of UK adults have no will. The two reasons people give are cost and hassle — and the market answers them with £100+ price tags, 3–5 day review queues and £10-a-year update subscriptions. We built SwiftWill to remove all three: a guided plain-English interview, instant PDF delivery, one £35 price, and free updates for life.

## What is SwiftWill's will writing service?

SwiftWill is an online will writing service for England and Wales: document-preparation software and legal information, not a law firm and not legal advice. Make a will online for £35 once, download the PDF instantly, then print and sign with two witnesses. Free updates for life. Skip us if you need tax planning, trusts, foreign assets or expect a dispute.

## Our promises — the "we never" policy

- No subscription or annual update fee — ever.
- No storage fees (we do not store the original will; you keep it).
- We never name ourselves executor and never sell executor or probate services.
- No funeral plans, no insurance, no LPAs, no cross-sells at checkout — nothing else is ever offered.

## How is SwiftWill accountable?

- **£2m professional indemnity insurance** — real cover behind every document we generate.
- **IPW member** — membership of the Institute of Professional Willwriters, which itself requires £2m PI insurance as a condition.
- **30-day money-back guarantee** — full refund within 30 days, no questions, published at [/refunds/](/refunds/).
- **The honesty gate** — our suitability check refuses sales that need a solicitor, and says so publicly: we would rather lose a sale than sell you a will that lets your family down.
- **Companies House** — operating entity [Elite Digital AI Solutions Ltd, no. 17250017](https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/17250017).

## Who is behind SwiftWill?

SwiftWill's documents and guides are written by will-writing professionals and checked against primary sources (gov.uk and legislation.gov.uk). Our content lead is **Marcus Kaiser**, Legal Content Lead — see [/author/marcus-kaiser/](/author/marcus-kaiser/). Where a solicitor reviews customer documents through the £25 review add-on, that review is performed by an SRA-regulated solicitor, giving Legal Ombudsman recourse for the reviewed will.

## What editorial standards do you follow?

Every legal figure on this site carries an outbound citation to gov.uk or legislation.gov.uk in the same paragraph. We show a "last reviewed" date on every content page, review core legal pages quarterly, and track the draft Wills Bill monthly at [/wills-bill-tracker/](/wills-bill-tracker/). If we get something wrong, tell us — corrections are published at [/corrections/](/corrections/), not quietly edited.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is SwiftWill a law firm?

No. SwiftWill is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. We provide legal information and document-preparation software for England and Wales. Will writing is not a reserved legal activity under the Legal Services Act 2007, so no licence is required to draft wills — and we carry £2m professional indemnity insurance and IPW membership as our accountability framework.

### What does SwiftWill never do?

No subscriptions or annual update fees, ever. No storage fees (we do not store the original will — you keep it). We never name ourselves executor and never sell executor or probate services. No funeral plans, no insurance, no LPAs, no cross-sells at checkout — nothing else is ever offered.

### Who checks the legal content on this site?

Every legal figure, rule and date on this site is written from primary sources — gov.uk, legislation.gov.uk (Wills Act 1837, Administration of Estates Act 1925, Inheritance Act 1975), and Law Commission publications — with outbound citations in the same paragraph. Core legal pages are reviewed quarterly and the Wills Bill tracker monthly, with a visible “last reviewed” date on every page.

### Why is there no telephone number?

Keeping support email-only is part of how a £35 price is possible, and it creates a written record of every answer we give. Email wills@swiftwill.co.uk and a real person replies — usually within one working day.
