Are Farewill’s couples wills the same product as SwiftWill’s pair?
Farewill’s couples page offers two individually completed online wills at £160. Its July 2026 online terms say that joint review of couples’ wishes requires the telephone service. SwiftWill’s pair instead reuses shared wishes with reciprocal substitutions. Confirm which workflow you need, especially if personal gifts or funeral wishes differ.
Does specialist checking mean solicitor advice?
Farewill’s terms describe checks for matters such as contradictions and unclear instructions, and explicitly distinguish that review from substantive legal advice. SwiftWill uses automated validation and has no individual reviewer. Ask about the scope and qualifications of the actual service you choose.
What if your wishes are more complex?
Farewill also sells wills written over the telephone with a specialist, at £240 for one person or £380 for a couple on its pricing page, and says complex wishes can be included there. SwiftWill has no telephone or trust service and redirects those circumstances to professional advice. Farewill states it is not a law firm and that its telephone service gives guidance rather than bespoke advice.
What changed in the ongoing-service terms?
The current Farewill terms describe an optional update subscription and optional custody of the original through a storage provider. Do not rely on older comparisons that say storage is unavailable or assume a free introductory year applies to every new order. Confirm the checkout price and any renewal before paying.
What does SwiftWill provide?
A guided interview, document preview, automated validation, downloadable PDFs and signing instructions. There is no annual update fee: regeneration for the same people uses a private recovery file and matching paid order. The £55 pair shares instructions; choose separate wills if your wishes differ. This does not include individual solicitor advice or review, and SwiftWill’s suitability questions send people with trusts, business or overseas assets, a likely dispute or capacity concerns to professional advice before payment.
How should you choose?
If you want someone qualified to check your individual document, choose a service that explicitly includes that, and ask what the check covers.
