What is in the package?
UTF-8 CSV files plus a datapackage.json manifest: intestacy thresholds (including the £322,000 statutory legacy in force since 26 July 2023), probate court fee and IHT bands, a source-dated snapshot of published will prices and service details, and the 22 answer-engine citation prompts. Official figures chain to gov.uk; competitor prices chain to each provider's own pricing page.

What should you check before using the figures?
SwiftWill compiles these records and sells one of the services in the provider comparison. The comparison is desk research from selected providers' published pages, not a representative market survey, a purchase test or a legal quality rating. Read the service scope and review arrangements alongside the price; a lower price does not establish that two services offer the same support.

The manifest lists the available files. Its package version and this page's update date are not source-check dates. The provider change log records which entries changed; an unchanged row keeps its existing date.
How should you cite or adapt the data?
Credit SwiftWill for its compilation and link to the original provider or official source for the underlying claim. Keep the row's check date, qualifications and unknown values. Include the licence link and identify your changes if you adapt a table or calculate a new result. The CC BY 4.0 licence covers SwiftWill's factual summaries, not third-party text, logos, documents or templates. Attribution does not imply endorsement.

Cite the official source directly for a legal rule. For the narrative, use intestacy rules, will cost and UK will statistics. The provider comparison methodology explains unknown values and the limits of the cost illustration.
How can you report an error or request clarification?
Use our contact details and include the file name, provider or figure, feature, current row date and the original source supporting your correction. Please send public source information only, without a customer's will or personal details. Confirmed corrections follow our editorial policy and corrections log. The provider export also has its own change log.
